Simona Halep started the year perfectly with a double performance at the WTA tournament in Shenzen / China. She became the champion at singles after defeating Karolina Siniakova / Czech Republic with the score of 6-1 2-6 6-0, and after only two hours, Halep played the doubles final together with Irina Begu. Romanians defeated the Czech players, Karolina Siniakova and Barbora Krejcikova in three sets with the score of 6-1 1-6 10-8. This is Simona Halep’s first doubles winning trophy.
Simona Halep will remain the first in WTA ranking with 6,425 points in front of Caroline Wozniacki / Denmark and GarbiƱe Muguruza / Spain, which occupies second and third positions.
