Loredana Toma won three gold medals at the World Weightlifting Championships in Anaheim, California, USA. She reached the world championships podium in the women's 63 kg category (all three events).
Toma snatched 109 kg and cleaned and jerked 128 kg, with a total of 237 kg.
Toma snatched 109 kg to Canada's Maude Charron's 102 kg and Colombia's Lina Marcela Rivas Ordonez's 101 kg. Also, Toma cleaned and jerked 128 kg. Thailand's Rattanawan Wamalun ranked second with 127 kg, followed by Colombia´s Lina Marcela Rivas Ordonez with 124 kg. Toma's gold total was of 237 kg, the silver medal went to Lina Marcela Rivas Ordonez with 225 kg and the bronze medal was won by Mercedes Isabel Perez Tigrero (Colombia) with 225 kg.
Thanks to this performance in all three events of her category, Loredana Toma managed to bring again the gold medal to Romania after 14 years.
